Hawke's Bay Wilding Pine Control Trust
- New organisation – an extension of the Hawke’s Bay Wilding Pine Volunteer Group set up in conjunction with DoC in 2021.
- Improving the environment in the Kaweka Range by reducing wilding pine infestation – assisting DoC.
- Maintenance work continues in already treated areas to ensure the area stays conifer free.
- Volunteer trips into the Kaweka Range approx. 1 day every 6 weeks.
- Currently use equipment provided by DoC which sometimes is not available so have applied for funding to purchase own equipment which will be used on the day trips.
- 50 volunteers on the register, day trips consist of 4 to 10 volunteers.
