Funding from PPET in 2023 has gone towards ECOED’s pest trapping operation in the Kaweka Ranges. ECOED volunteers are using auto resetting traps to target possums and feral cats.

ECOED was established in 2002 to halt the decline of North Island brown kiwi in the Kaweka Forest Park. To date, dedicated volunteers have raised and returned more than 310 chicks into the Kaweka Forest Park.
